LIONS CLUB

Our Lions are dedicated individuals and families making a positive impact on local and global communities. Working together on important community projects and raising funds to support those in need.

The Huachuca City Lions Club, a non-profit organization, has been serving since 1955. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM, and food commodities are distributed on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Website

For eligible adults, the Lions Club covers the cost of an eye exam and one pair of eyeglasses. The Club asks for a $10 fee from the recipient, payable by money order to the Lions Club. This fee may be waived in certain cases.  Website

The Outreach Program at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church aims to extend "love for our neighbors" to the community. Programs include:

  • Food Pantry: Provides bags of food.
  • Clothing and Toiletry Closet: Offers clothes and self-care items.
  • Community Assistance Fund: Helps with rent and utility bills.
  • Produce on Wheels Without Waste (POWWOW): Monthly produce distribution.
  • Good Neighbor Alliance Shelter: Members help with cooking.
  • Classes: Citizenship and English as a Second Language.
  • School Supplies: Donated to local schools.
  • Vacation Bible School: Free for the community.
  • Crock pot Seminar: Provides crock pots and recipes.
  • Appreciation Potluck:  For Village Christian Preschool families.
  • Collaboration: Works with Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Financial Assistance: Supports other United Methodist Churches

SAHARA HUMANITARIAN RESOURCES

The corporation is organized to distribute humanitarian aid and supplies at no charge to individuals in need, including first responders, firefighters, and community members who require assistance.

  1. Veterans Services: Available for all eras, including claims.
  2. Operation Home Program: Serves Active Duty families.
  3. Scholarship Program: For high school students in Cochise County.
  4. PTSD Support Group: For Veterans and Active Duty families.


They organize three major events each year, contingent on funding: Easter, Back to School, and Christmas. Additionally, they send Troop Packages overseas.   Website
